KC Sand Bar

Courtney and I have never missed a summer concert of Kenny Chesney until this summer. I must admit, my summer has not been the same without that 1 day of great music, the time leading up to it, getting excited about your plans, and of course, the rush of the drive to get there! This summer it just didn't work out. Needless to say, I have had little mini concerts in my car to fill the void.

Last summer is what I've held onto in my summer without Kenny. Courtney and I were in the 4th row, which seemed great until we got there. I realized just how close we were to the stage and had to figure out a way to get even closer! I called my country music expert friend, Erin, and asked what I should do. She suggested I talk to a security guy and pretty much flirt my way up there. Well, needless to say, we got our way half way through Keith Urban's set. WE MADE IT TO THE SAND BAR! It was the best show I have ever seen before, we were in the pit of the stage, so Kenny was above us. It was wonderful!

Never again will regular seats be good enough, I will always try my luck at getting closer!

The Wooden Box

Having dinner for the first time at your boyfriends parents house is something to never be forgotten.  It thankfully was not the first time meeting The McNair's, however it was the first time to meet Harry.

I was in the kitchen talking with Mrs. McNair when Daniel asked me to come into the living room. Before he had called for me to come in there, I noticed him looking around at what I thought was going be childhood pictures. He looked at me and very slowly pulls down a wooden box from the top shelve. Now, just so that you get the full picture: he never takes his eyes off me the entire time pulling this box down. I, at this point, am giggling, smiling, ready to see what he can't wait to show me. He keeps his eyes on me, I keep my eyes on the box. He removes the lid very slowly and I take a peek at what it could be. As soon as my eyes laid upon what treasure was sitting in the box, I took off without a sound to the kitchen. Daniel rushed to make sure I was ok. Needless to say, I was not ok.  Not to his surprise from me bolting at 90 MPH, he found me in tears, sweating, red faced from not breathing, and hitting myself. He hugged me and told me how sorry he was, he felt so bad that he took me upstairs and let me lay down until I was no longer slapping myself thinking Harry was on me.

Now, a little background information on Harry: Harry is a gift from an aunt when he was a child. Harry is a black with brown stripes tarantula. Yep, full size. Yes, they had decided to keep him for moments like this. Harry is no longer alive, thank God. I cannot go into the living room anymore.

Daniel knew I didn't like spiders, to his defense, not many people do, that's normal. He didn't realize that I really have a fear of them. In fact, we were watching tv last night and a preview came on that featured a Harry. Daniel covered my eyes so that I would not stop breathing. Thanks to Harry, Daniel and his whole family are very good spider killers when I'm around.

Introducing Those Who Will Be Topic Of Conversation

Here are a few of the faces you will need to know to read and understand my stories. These are all very important people in my life, as I am sure they will also become important to you. We all have someone who reminds us of someone we know, in both good and bad ways! Life is full of characters! My hope is you to find some commonality between my friends and family as well as your own! And watch out, YOU may be part of my story!

Meet Daniel. He is quite the looker, and the best guy I've ever met. Daniel is the total package: smart, funny, handsome, and athletic! Daniel and I have ended up in some very funny situations. He makes me laugh all the time....and most recently I have discovered he is laughing at me and that has been unknowingly what makes me laugh! Our favorite thing to do is nothing, we really enjoy just being lazy. We have traveled to the beach, to hockey games, and to Steeplechase. We always leave the event with a "this could only happen to us" story that I can't wait to share with you!

My family means so very much to me. My mom and dad are divorced but we all get along really, REALLY well. My older in age yet "younger" brother is in a band called Downstream. This picture was taken at their CD release party. My dad has a funny since about him that only I would laugh at. He calls me babe which I have always thought to be funny, and he has this calming nature about him that I just love. My mom is beautiful and is my biggest fan, I have my own personal cheerleader in all events of my life. Mom gave me the nickname of Katie Bug that has stuck through my adult years and caught on with her friends as well as mine.

Not only is my best friend Beth my best friend, but she and I are also dance coaches. Actually, that is how we met. I really don't see how I made it though life as long as I did! She and I are really just 1 person in 2 bodies. See, cloning really can happen without science. Now if you wanna talk about getting things all planned out and something going wrong in the end then just wait till this season of dance really picks up! She has a little boy who is just about to turn 2, named Cooper. He is so much fun and is all BOY who loves dirt, trucks and tractors, his mommy, and choo choo trains!

My most favorite gal pal in the whole wide world is Autumn. She is getting married in October and is gonna make a beautiful bride! I cannot wait to stand beside her as her maid of honor. She is my go to gal for all advice needed, she talks me down in times of need. Autumn has changed the way I say my favorite season is fall....she prefers me to say AUTUMN is my favorite season of all.

The greatest group of girls to ever have been a part of goes way back to my Middle School and High School years. Ooltewah girls are the best around! We don't all get together in one place at one time these days as some of us are married and being mommy. This is the meaning of life long friends.  We can always pick up right where we left off as if no time has gone by at all.

Courtney is my rock, my Kenny Chesney concert goer, and my pile up on the couch to watch movies and eat but really just talk and then take a nap! She is too wonderful for just anyone; that is why I am so blessed to have her to call my friend. She is a step above everyone, she always has it all together. She is the most awesome friend to ever have come through for you.

Kristen is my childhood best friend. She and I grew up in church together. As we got older and discovered we could be big girls and grow up, we got our own apartment! This is the place where we found we had a stalker! One of my favorite stories ever while we were there was the time Kris walked LITERALLY through the door. I know you will be in stitches by mid ways of the story! She is now married to a wonderful guy named Michael. I loved being her maid of honor and standing with her on her BIG day!

(picture coming soon!)

Jewel and Gypsy are my pets. Chesney was my first cat ever and has now been gone for 4 weeks now. Ches has been missed so much by me and Gypsie. Jewel is a BIG baby. She is a boxer/husky mix. When you mix that together you get a big love bug of a dog, a very nosey dog, a dog that is NOT a good protector, and of course many bruises. Gypsy is my cat who lives on my back porch. She is the meanest, biggest, laziest, declawed cat ever known to man. However, she is a good cuddlier in the winter.

Why Life's A Dance

I chose this title simply because it seems true in my life: "Learn as you go, sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow." Not only is it a great country song, it is a motto for those who have a few bumps along the way...and yes, my bumps sometimes are more like gaping holes to fall into and laugh because you cannot believe this is real life! Finding the joys in life is life's gift to us; it's like opening a present Christmas morning: getting so excited you have finally torn through all the paper only to find the box has been taped and you cannot get it open. Then the path to opening a gift meets a small, but funny, bump in the road (such as every day life) and this tends to give the gift giver (our little mishaps) a little chuckle.....at least it does for my dad! So, as you follow my blog, I hope you yourself can laugh along with me and see yourself in situations I sometimes get myself into! I guarantee much laughter!
